Question: Do I need an appointment to bring in items to consign?
Answer: YES. We book appointments 7 days a week. We book no more than 2-3 appointments a day so we can get the items out for sale that same day. Due to the advance booking of appointments, we do not accept items without an appointment to be fair to all our consignors.
Question: Are there any fees associated with consigning?
Answer: YES. A consignor who wishes to pick up their items at the end of the consignment period is accessed a $2.00 pick up fee at the initial appointment. This allows any items being picked up to be held for up to 30 days before it will become store property and donatable for non-pick up.
Question: Do you take shoes for consignment?
Answer: YES. However, they should be in worn-once condition. The driving heel should be reviewed to ensure limited wear and there should be no scuff, foot impressions or dirt present on the shoes.
Question: Do you have "plus" sizes?
Answer: YES. We carry all sizes - and at times, depending on consignment inventory, we can carry up to size 3X for women & XXL for men.
Question: Do you carry maternity clothing?
Answer: At this time we do not have any maternity clothing. But we are hoping to get some in soon!
Question: How do you tags work?
Answer: There are 3 dates/prices listed on our tags. We first show the date that we got the item and it's initial price. The next date is 30 days later and it's price reduction by 25%. The third date is the final reduction of 25%. 30 days later the item is removed from the inventory. Formal wear, purses, jewelry & seasonal coats do not have a price reduction - their prices are fixed.
Question: How many items can I bring in at a time?
Answer: We take up to 25 items per consignment appointment. We do ask for a minimum of 5 items to open a consignment account.
Question: What brands do you accept?
Answer: We do not take any brands made specifically for Walmart, KMart, Target or Kohl's. We have a full listing of those brands on a tip sheet for anyone interested in consigning. Because these stores deal with large volumes of these lines, the pricing cannot be competitive for resale.
Question: Do you hold items?
Answer: Unfortunately, we cannot hold items.
Question: Do you offer layaway?
Answer: No we do not offer this at this time.
Question: Why do you not accept drop-off's?
Answer: We book 2-3 consignment appointments -which can be 60-75 items to inventory, tag & display each day. We schedule bookings accordingly to get the items our for sale ASAP. For this reason, we do not accept drop-off's which would "back up" the schedule and inventory.
Question: What if I am going to Florida for the winter and can't pick my items up at the end of the consigment period?
Answer: We cannot store the items for you so we ask if you are not able to retrieve that you have a family member/friend pick the unsold inventory up for you or choose to donate the items. We have very limited storage space and cannot accommodate storing items longer than 30 days past the end of the consignment period.
Question: Who sets the prices for consigned items?
Answer: The store will determine the prices for all items.
Question: Why do you book so far in advance?
Answer: Consignment appointments typically book 1-2 months ahead. Just as in regular retail stores - inventory comes in prior and during the current season. We recommend to every new consignor to book ahead as the appointments do fill-up quickly. We do our best to accomodate our consignors with "last minute" appointments, but only it is only as the schedule permits.
Question: How do we get paid for items that sell?
Answer: Each month end, all sales are reconciled for each consignor, therefore, information on sales or credit balances are not available until the 10th of the following month. If a consignor chooses to pick up a check they may do so after the 10th of the month, however, we do request that you call and we will have a check ready for you to pick up. Consignors may also choose to have a check mailed at the end of their consignment period. A service fee of $1.00 does apply for this payment method. For example: If you consign in items on February 17th - any items that sell between February 17th - 28th will be available to the consignor by March 10th.
Question: Do you call consignors to pick up their items at the end of the consignment period?
Answer: NO. It is the responsibility of the consignor to know their pick up dates. Dates are given to each consignor at their consignment appointment.
Question: Can I shop against my balance?
Answer: YES. Consignors can shop against their estimated balance at any time, however a more accurate credit balance is available after the 10th of each month end. Consignors are our best customers!!
